The Story
If the apocalypse occurred in the wild west and electric guitars existed, this 5 song mini LP might just be the perfect soundtrack. With an assortment of Portland’s most notorious rockers, metalheads and punks, ZONE TROOPER brings us a killer set of NWOBHM inspired rock n’ roll numbers from the wastelands. Channeling bands such as TANK and JAGUAR, the 3 main guys of this band (members of such groups as RIGOROUS INSTITUTION, GENOGEIST, FRENZY, ANDY PLACE AND THE COOLHEADS, etc etc etc) bring in many guest appearances from friends creating insane soundscapes, guitar solos, acoustic guitars, piano parts, whistles, and noises that spark the imagination while keeping the listeners’ feet tapping and heads banging. This is a studio only project (for now???) but if they keep cranking out the hits akin to the ones on this record, Portland will have another absolute favorite. The proof is in the music video for “Shoot the Sundown”, in which some notable Portland deviants appear to rock, shoot guns, and smoke cigarettes in the wasteland. Total perfection.
